The management of the CREATING HEALTH´s activities are under the overall responsibility of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee of CREATING HEALTH is led by Joana Camilo (Executive Director) and counts also with the legal adviser Sofia Geraldes Fernandes and Maria Julia Moura (administrative and financial advisor).

Joana Camilo
Executive Diretor

Graduated in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) where she was also Research Assistant of the Biological Sciences Research Group (IST) and Project Manager of E-escola. Between 2005 and 2014 she was National Contact Point (NCP) for the European Union RTD+I Framework Programmes (6th and 7th FP and Horizon 2020) for Health and Biotechnology. Among other functions, Joana was an Expert and National Delegate in the States Representative Group of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI and IMI2) and participated in several coordination projects of other NCP at European level.

Sofia Geraldes Fernandes
Legal Officer

Graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and has a Master in Law in Criminal Sciences by the same Faculty, having defended her thesis in the area of reproductive medicine.

Her interest in health and technology led her to a postgraduate degree in medicine law from Center for Biomedical Law of University of Coimbra and a course in data protection from Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

Sofia is a lawyer since 2013 and, before integrating CREATING HEALTH, she worked as lawyer in some Portuguese law offices.

Maria Julia Moura
Administrative and Financial Advisor

Graduated in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and she is currently attending a Master Program in Economics and Public Policies from the Economy and Management Superior Institute- ISEG.

Maria Julia worked as an inter-regional consultant at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and, just before integrating CREATING HEALTH, she was responsible for managing internationally funded research projects, such as C.D.C, N.I.H, European Commission, W.H.O, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, at the Foundation for Scientific and Technological Development in Health (FIOTEC).
